Titans Head to Wenatchee for Super Regionals
Tacoma Baseball is set to compete in the NWAC Super Regionals tournament following their third-place finish in the West Region. The Titans secured their spot in the tournament after splitting their final conference series with Lower Columbia College, which allowed them to clinch the third position.
The tournament will take place at Wenatchee Valley College. Tacoma's first challenge is a single elimination game against Shoreline Community College, the #4 North seed, scheduled for 1 PM. The winner of this game will advance to a three-game series against host school Wenatchee Valley, the #2 East seed. The victor of this series will earn a place in the NWAC Championship, which begins on May 21st in Longview, WA.
Head coach Ian Sanderson will be leading the Titans, who hold a 19-18 overall record and a 13-11 conference record, into this crucial stage of postseason play. Key players for the team include pitcher Butch Kiblen, who has a 2.77 ERA over 55.1 innings, outfielder Brayden Buck with a .329 batting average, and first baseman Ethan Mar, who boasts a .333 batting average and five home runs this season. Notably, the Titans have not faced Shoreline or Wenatchee this season, as their scheduled series against Wenatchee in March was canceled due to bad weather.
