Aleigha Woodland is the NWAC Player of the Week
Aleigha Woodland, a sophomore defensive midfielder and captain for the Tacoma Community College Women's Soccer team, has been recognized as the NWAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the period of October 13-19.
During this award week, Woodland played a crucial role in helping Tacoma secure four points in the standings. The team achieved a 1-0-1 record, with a convincing 5-0 victory against Green River and a competitive 2-2 draw with Lower Columbia. Woodland's defensive contributions were instrumental in limiting opponents to only four shots on goal across both matches, which helped maintain Tacoma's position at the top of the West Region standings.
Head coach Jill Green praised Woodland's impact on the team's performance, stating, "Aleigha has been instrumental in our success this season. She is dominant in the air, reads the game well, and continues to be a key distributor in our attack as well."
Woodland's recognition this week adds to her impressive record, having been named an NWAC All-Star last year in 2024. The Tacoma Titans hold an overall record of 13-1-3 and remain undefeated in conference play.
The team will continue conference play this weekend.
Go Titans!
