WSOC shuts out Clark on the road
VANCOUVER, Wash. — Tacoma (5-1-1, 2-0-0) shut out Clark (1-1-0, 1-1-0) 1-0 on Saturday, with Tacoma's defense limiting Clark to just five shots on goal.
The opening half featured a robust offensive effort from Tacoma, with multiple attempts testing the Clark defense. Melanie Rojas-Perez and Laura Corr led the charge, each recording several shots on goal, though Clark's goalkeeper Ella Lullich made key saves to maintain the scoreline. Notably, shots from both Rojas-Perez and Josie Harris struck the post, underscoring Tacoma's relentless pursuit of an early lead. Despite the scoreless draw at the end of the half, Tacoma's attacking presence was evident throughout.
The second half kicked off with Tacoma establishing a strong presence on the field, culminating in a decisive goal by Rojas-Perez in the 52nd minute with an assist from Harris. Tacoma's offensive efforts continued as Rojas-Perez took multiple shots on goal, consistently testing Clark's defense. Goalkeeper Olivia Meyer played a pivotal role in maintaining Tacoma's lead, making crucial saves throughout the half to secure a 1-0 victory.
