WSOC wins in final pre-season game
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma (5-1-1) secured a decisive 4-0 victory over Wenatchee Valley (0-4-0) on Tuesday, with Tacoma's offense delivering 53 shots and maintaining a shutout defense.
In the first half, Tacoma dominated the offensive play, persistently challenging Rayen Blue, Wenatchee Valley's goalkeeper, with numerous attempts on goal. Tacoma's relentless pressure paid off when Josie Harris netted the first goal at 16:49, assisted by Laura Corr. Shortly after, Shalai Jamison capitalized on a penalty kick at 21:02, doubling Tacoma's lead before the half ended.
Tacoma dominated the first half with a relentless offensive display, taking a 2-0 lead over Wenatchee Valley. The home team peppered the goal with 21 shots, forcing Wenatchee Valley's goalkeeper Blue to make eight saves, while Tacoma's defense held firm, limiting any scoring opportunities for the visitors.
The second half began with Tacoma maintaining relentless pressure on Wenatchee Valley's defense, evidenced by a flurry of shots within the first few minutes, including attempts from Corr and Madison Coulter. Tacoma's persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Aleigha Woodland scored, assisted by Jayme Gieger, to extend the lead. Woodland struck again in the 79th minute, capping off a dominant performance by securing a 4-0 advantage for Tacoma.

Tacoma applied consistent pressure, tallying twenty-three shots in the half, though Blue managed to make seven saves for Wenatchee Valley.
Gieger contributed with an assist, aiding the Tacoma attack. Corr was active on the field, recording one assist and leading the team with six shots, three of which were on goal. Harris scored the game-winning goal, adding to her tally of two shots on goal. Woodland found the back of the net twice, while also leading Tacoma in shots with nine, four on target.
Blue made a significant impact in goal for Wenatchee Valley, recording 17 saves across 87 minutes of play, facing 21 shots. The defense was bolstered by a combined team effort, with the team being credited for six defensive saves. Despite strong individual performances, offensive contributions were limited, as no goals, assists, or shots on goal were recorded by the team.
Tacoma improves to 5-1-1 on the season with their decisive victory. Wenatchee Valley falls to 0-4-0 after the defeat.
