Highline Edges Tacoma In Fourth Quarter Surge
TACOMA, Wash. — On TCC Employee Appreciation Night, Tacoma fell to Highline, 63-45, unable to overcome a fourth-quarter surge where Highline outscored them 25-8.
The game opened with Highline securing an early lead, as Nevaeh Richardson and Jeralynn Sevaaetasi each scored layups to put them ahead 4-0. Highline's lead extended to 6-0 with another layup from Sevaaetasi. TCC responded with a basket from Jasmeen Kaur at 8:28 and a layup by Laney Green, narrowing the gap to 6-4. Highline kept up the pressure with a 3-pointer from Keira Lonn at 7:44, assisted by Sevaaetasi, pushing the score to 9-4. TCC tied the game at 9-9 with a 3-pointer from Kaur at 3:14. However, Highline closed the quarter with two layups, one by Lonn and another by Sequoia Lopez, ending the first quarter with a 13-9 advantage.
