Jose Castellano Encinas is the NWAC Player of the Week

Jose Castellano Encinas, Freshman Centerback, Tacoma CC Men's Soccer, has been named NWAC Player of the Week for October 27-November 2.

During this period, Castellano Encinas played a crucial role in leading Tacoma to a 1-0-1 record, securing the West No. 2 seed. His defensive efforts were instrumental in a 5-0 victory over South Puget Sound, where Tacoma CC achieved their NWAC-leading 10th shutout of the season. In this match, the team limited their opponents to just two shots. Castellano Encinas also contributed to holding the undefeated Highline, a team with the highest scoring offense, to two goals on 14 shots in a 2-2 tie.

Head coach Jason Gjertsen praised Castellano Encinas, stating, "Jose helped us secure 2nd place in the west region with our 5-0 win vs. SPSCC and NWAC leading 10th clean sheet. He's been our anchor in the back line all season."

The team will continue in their playoff run this Saturday at Rogue.
