Andrew Wagenblatt is the NWAC Athlete of the Week
Andrew Wagenblatt, goalkeeper for the Titans men's soccer team, has been named the NWAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for October 6-12.
During this period, Wagenblatt delivered key performances that contributed significantly to his team's success. He recorded two clean sheets, earning four points for the Titans. In a match against the undefeated Highline, Wagenblatt made six saves, resulting in a 0-0 tie, which was only the second tie of the season for the Thunderbirds. Following this, he maintained his impressive form with another six-save shutout, leading to a 2-0 victory over Clark, the second-place team in the West.
Sophomore Andrew Wagenblatt's contributions were pivotal in helping the Titans move into a tie for second place in the West Region. Head coach Jason Gjertsen praised his performance, stating, "Drew had a huge week for us. Two clean sheets against the top two teams in the West and helped us get into a tie for 2nd place in the west region. He made big saves and kept his composure in key moments of the games."
The team will continue conference play next week.
