MSOC won against Clark putting them tied for #2 in West Region
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma secured a 2-0 victory over Clark on Saturday, with the home team benefiting from a strong defensive performance that included a shutout by the Tacoma goalkeeper, who made six saves.
The first half began with Tacoma establishing a presence as Davyd Fedina's early shot went wide right. Tacoma continued to press, and in the 41st minute, Fedina found the back of the net with an assist from Kuan-Lin Chen, giving Tacoma a 1-0 lead. The half closed with Tacoma maintaining their advantage, as Andrew Wagenblatt made key saves to preserve the scoreline. Tacoma led Clark 1-0 at the end of the first half.
The second half commenced with Tacoma maintaining control following a scoreless first half. Fedina broke the deadlock in the 59th minute with a decisive goal, giving the home team a 2-0 lead. Goalkeeper Wagenblatt played a crucial role, making multiple key saves against Clark's attacking efforts, including shots from Matt Browning and Milos Mavrak. Despite Clark's attempts to rally, including several shots on goal, Tacoma's defense held firm. The half concluded with Tacoma preserving their lead, securing a 2-0 victory over Clark at the final whistle.
Fedina led Tacoma with two goals, including one game-winning goal, and an assist, converting two of his four shots on goal. Chen contributed with an assist, adding to the team's offensive efforts. In goal, Wagenblatt recorded six saves, ensuring a clean sheet with four of those saves coming in the second half.
Mavrak led Clark with three total shots, two of which were on target, highlighting his offensive efforts. Jon Walczyk, Browning, and Pablo Barbosa-Sanche each contributed with one shot on goal. Patrick Murphy managed the net for Clark, completing the game with one save while allowing two goals.
The next challenge for Tacoma is a home game where they will face Pierce on October 22. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. as Tacoma looks to secure a victory at home.
