Titan MSOC wins at Pierce 2-0
HERITAGE — Tacoma (6-4-2, 4-2-1) secured a 2-0 victory over Pierce (0-11-2, 0-7-1) on Saturday. Tacoma's defense was solid, with their goalkeeper making six saves to earn the shutout.
Tacoma initiated the match against the Raiders with an aggressive approach. In the 21st minute, Noah Blake-Mathur delivered a precise corner kick, assisting Bracken Overby in scoring the opening goal. This early lead fueled Tacoma's momentum throughout the period.
Pierce responded with attempts on goal, but Tacoma's defense, led by goalkeeper Manny Zuniga, maintained the advantage with crucial saves. Tacoma continued to apply pressure, though several shots went high. The period concluded with Tacoma holding a 1-0 lead over the Raiders.
The second half began with Tacoma maintaining a strong defensive presence, highlighted by goalkeeper Zuniga's saves, including a critical one against Pierce's Eli Ortega early in the half. Tacoma gained momentum when Taylor Duffek scored in the 72nd minute, extending the lead to 2-0 after a corner kick by Taylor Pierce. Despite continued pressure from Tacoma, including several shots on goal and a corner in the closing minutes, the team held firm defensively as Zuniga made another crucial save against Gavin Nail in the final moments. The period concluded with Tacoma securing a 2-0 victory over the Raiders.

Tacoma extended their lead in the second half with a goal by Duffek in the 72nd minute, capitalizing on a corner kick by Taylor Pierce. Despite committing frequent fouls, Tacoma's defense, led by Zuniga, remained resolute, making three crucial saves, including a shot from Nail at the 82nd minute. The Raiders struggled to convert opportunities, with multiple attempts saved or going wide, as Tacoma maintained a 2-0 advantage by the end of the match.
Zuniga recorded a shutout by making six saves, with two in the first half and four in the second. Overby scored the game-winning goal, finding the net with both his shots on target. Duffek added a goal and also completed his performance with a single shot on target. Davyd Fedina led the team in attempts, taking five shots with two of them being on target.
Jenner stood out for the Raiders with five saves in the match, facing a total of seven shots on goal. Santiago Diaz Romero and Nail were active on offense, with Romero taking two shots and landing one on goal, while Nail had two shots on goal. Aerius Enyart contributed defensively and offensively with one shot on goal from the center back position.
Tacoma improved to 6-4-2 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play. Pierce fell to 0-11-2 overall and 0-7-1 in the conference after the loss.
