Tacoma CC Falls to Highline in Close Contest
TACOMA, Wash. — On TCC Employee Appreciation Night, Tacoma fell to Highline 79-69 on Wednesday, with Highline securing the win through superior field goal efficiency. Tacoma's defensive effort included seven steals, but it was not enough to overcome Highline's offensive advantage.
The game started with Highline taking an early lead as Dane Lewis hit a 3-pointer in the first minute of the game. Tacoma responded with Dylan Wiggins' jumper assisted by Jakoi Lide, but Highline extended their lead with consistent scoring, including a layup by Ian Prictor. Highline capitalized on their opportunities in the paint, with Taylor Mwale and Jessley Bukeyeneza contributing to a 15-6 advantage by the thirteen minute mark. Highline maintained control, however, finishing the half ahead 34-26.
Highline maintained a steady lead throughout the second half, ultimately securing a 79-69 victory over TCC. Tacoma's efforts included a notable 3-pointer from Kaden Truong, narrowing the gap slightly. Despite TCC's attempts to rally, including a final 3-pointer by Hayden Kee at the buzzer, Highline's consistent scoring ensured their win.
