Ten Hits for the Titans
TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma secured a 7–3 victory over Olympic on Thursday, powered by a home run and two doubles among its 10 hits at home.
Tacoma's pitching staff effectively contained Olympic's offense, allowing six hits and striking out two over nine innings.
Olympic took an early lead in the first inning when Andrew Ahn scored on an error after reaching base on a walk. Tacoma went scoreless in the bottom of the inning, leaving Olympic ahead 1–0.
In the second inning, TCC evened the score. After Carson Ackermann doubled, he advanced to third on a groundout and scored on an RBI single by Clayton Crooks. The game was tied 1–1 after two innings.
Tacoma took the lead in the third inning. Ty Iddon singled, followed by a single from Kaden Cretti and another from Vaughn Lowe, loading the bases. Ethan Mar then reached on a fielder's choice, allowing two runs to score, one unearned, putting TCC ahead 3–1.
The scoring continued for Tacoma in the fourth inning. Brayden Buck led off with a home run. Crooks doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Iddon, expanding TCC's lead to 5–1.
Olympic narrowed the gap in the fifth inning when Greyson Prichard, who was hit by a pitch, scored on an RBI double by Dominic Kaptur, making it 5–2.
Tacoma added two insurance runs in the eighth inning. After Ackermann was hit by a pitch and Tyson Rather entered as a pinch runner, Rather scored on a single by Iddon, who drove in two runs. TCC led 7–2 going into the ninth.
Olympic managed one more run in the ninth inning. Josiah Gooding scored on an error, but Tacoma held on to secure a 7–3 victory. Final score: Tacoma 7, Olympic 3.
Butch Kiblen delivered a solid performance for TCC, pitching 8 innings with 5 hits and 2 earned runs allowed. Kiblen maintained control by issuing only one walk and striking out two batters over his 102-pitch effort, 63 of which were strikes. Atticus Manning came in as relief, pitching 1 inning, giving up 1 hit and 1 run while also walking one batter. The pitching staff combined to hold Olympic to just 3 runs across the game, showcasing their ability to limit scoring opportunities.
